This is a page in a mushroom identification field guide of what is the species that looks like the one I'm quite certain that we gathered, except this one is poisonous. This image is not so good because I photographed the book under a plastic hold that I normally use in the kitchen for protecting cookbooks, and it is somewhat scratched up.

One thing about eating wild mushrooms when you're still new to the sport is that after you ingest them you begin to question if it was such a good idea even is you were very certain about what they were. On the other hand if I do end up eating the rest of these I've saved about $15 on groceries.

This is a photo oh the cap that I just ate having it's spore print taken last night. I placed it half on white paper and half on blue paper because the spore print it supposed to be white if edible an green if deadly and I thought the white would show up nicer on blue paper than white paper and vice versa for the green.

I also put a smaller cap on a darker blue card (not photographed)

Here are the spore prints. I think the mushrooms sat on the cards about 18 hours before I took this photo. Anyway, I feel fine now, although some mushroom toxins can take quite a long time before they take effect, as much as 24 hours according to various sources.
